I am thinking right now. I kind of (I guess) went on vacation. I didn't write at all.
So now... I don't know if I should bring this place back to life (tweak some things of course) or perhaps make a Japanese demon folklore forum? o-o I don't know. Maybe I really am done with forums?? Then again I really miss everyone. If I do this, I want to make a place like MDA, where all of our inspiration is supported with plausible plot. If you want to make a samurai, you can; if you want to make a dragon with twelve noses, you can. Whatever people drawn inspiration from: books, anime, tv shows, etc. I want it to be able to be harnessed here. Can I do it again!? Probably. I just need to know if there's anyone with me, really.

I fell out because I was tired I guess. I couldn't even make a damn character. XD I think it was because I couldn't quite let MDA go, and a character I had made on Ross' forum (DM) was sticking strongly with me. Oh the troubles!

Anyway, I know we all want to write. So fuck it, let's do it together? XD Let's just talk here and decide what to do. Someone just tell me what to do and I'll make it, and it'll turn out like MDA most likely. XD If I have anything, it's the ability for that. Shu says it should be something simple and loose that we can start from ground up like MDA kind of was all over the damn place before we dragged it piece by piece together. I think we're starting too complex. Even maybe the entire fandom and concept isn't going to work because of the complexity of period pieces.

Something I always played with in my mind was the concept and idea of...what if samurai had cellphones...? Throw technology into the Meiji Era. Just thinking.

I think it'd be better to do our own thing rather than follow an anime or tv show-- because we pretty much do our own thing regardless. Though honestly the idea of samurai with cellphones is coming from so far left field that I don't even know how to react to it o.o

Yeah, I'm thinking I can just tag Rurouni Kenshin and Gintama, etc., so that people can find it. Then we go and advertise continuously. Lmao good point.

Yeah! Like Four islands of Japan. Each has a ruler/king of some kind with daimyo and vassals under each. There are demons/ayakashi, some specific (like yukionna), some not. There are demon hunters, priests, foreigners arriving from anywhere by boat. History-wise, we're tweaking everything after the black ships. Say, technology like cellphones were brought over. So they're building like new train tracks and new systems still. Everything is in progress, so the old tech is mainly in use, but stuff like car, phones, computers, etc. are being brought in (that can be pretty much on par with today). It's like a FF remaining in the same Era. *_* Isn't it intriguing? And there can be a lot of guns vs swords problems. That's where the ayakashi powers can play a role. They can possess people and become them, or people can be born as them. Or people can be half ayakashi. Stuff like that. But I don't know if I'm just overly inspired by the show I just watched (added in my own concepts [the tech part]) or if this will actually attract people and be fun. I'm a little nervous going outside of a fandom.

The gap would be pretty crazy. But yeah, Final Fantasy somehow makes the crazy differences in tech work out for them, but yeah, it seems like your idea would be the equivalent of Japan being isolated and technologically stagnant in present day and then just opening to the world. Honestly I bet the rest of the world would just try to make a colony out of Japan's "savages" at that point XD

That's why it won't be modern day. It's kind of different. Like there's boats and carriages still. But old cars are being built. And BAM there's cellphones and computers. Like everything is being developed all at once in the earlier ages. It doesn't work but it can be made to via creative license.

Well, I did drop an RP that I hang around in the adverts, if you guys are that RP starved. It's a dark medieval site, so if that's your thing...it's new and in need of MDA-flavor insanity.

I don't join other forums, you know this, Xan. I don't believe I can create something like MDA without starting over from scratch. I could focus on MAT and make it work, but there's so many specificities and not enough freedom for making characters that I think it won't last long. Hell, I couldn't even get a character done. XD
So what do you think about that idea? We could have guns, war, samurai, ayakashi powers (almost like magic with fun repercussions) really anything. XD

Helllo guys. It is I. Anyways I have been as well interested in RP as well. I think I killed my need to rp when I butchered myself with so any characters, plus a lot of changes going around my life. I apologize for not even being on skype. HOWEVER I am sort of more around now. I can create a balance and I do really miss you guys. There's just a certain area that is and always will be reserved for you <3 I mean I might not be able to put in massive posts constantly, but I can at least try to give something <3

Yeah what we make now will be something that is balanced around OUR lives so that it doesn't feel like work. It'll be laid back and accepting. Starting with the name, I was thinking maybe like Age of Ayakashi? Islands of Ayakashi? Swords of Ayakashi... Uhh... Ideas? (Modern Day Ayakashi wouldn't work considering it isn't technically modern day).

As for groups I was thinking:
DEMON HUNTERS
AYAKASHI
NAME FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE AYAKASHI IN THEM
CIVILIANS
FOREIGNERS (usually tech savvy)
DAIMYO/LORDS (Four only, each ruling an island)
VASSALS/SAMURAI (Those under the daimyos...though they would be specifically delegated to each lord and may or may not battle each other, so perhaps separate colors for each daimyo they serve?)
NINJA/ASSASSINS? (Same as above, serving the daimyo. Maybe lop these in with vassals and not separate Ninjas from Samurai. Cause there can be anything really as a vassal. Even an Ayakashi.)

Thoughts?

P.S. I can redo THIS forum so that way we keep the layout and everything. I just need to...change all the info, fix the groups, fix the advertisement, and all the images. But hey, less work. We also just need to archive all the apps. >.>

I just created a character for this site. I'm itching to RP again and I've missed everyone on MDA so much. If my name doesn't give away who I am, then you're clueless.

Are we going to do this or what? I don't even care if we switch to something completely random or to another site. I want to RP with my friends again.

Besides, thoughts of Vanity and Grimm have been locked up too long and I need to get creative juices flowing again.
